Start your planning by checking out this blog post with tips and tricks to a successful 2020 wedding and then give us a call to get planning!

Individuality

A big trend we noticed in 2019 that is carrying into 2020 is individuality. Putting your own personal touches on your wedding makes it more memorable for you and your guests. The people attending your wedding know you and want to feel that the wedding is specific to you.

Adding photos, fun favors, unique centerpieces and non-traditional wedding food are a few examples of how to ensure your wedding is personal and unique to you. One-way SBR Events can help you with non-traditional wedding food is with stations and obviously, BBQ!

Our stations provide guests with an array of different tastes and options. Our ‘around the world’ stations allow for variety while our BBQ fondue station meets every meat lover, and even vegetarians, beyond satisfied! If you are looking to veer away from chicken and beef plated options, we have your covered!

Color

This year’s pantone color of the year is: Classic Blue! We can all get excited about this color of the year. It makes a great statement color and can easily be match with other colors within venues, other linens and your florals.

This classic blue has a calming, yet elegant effect. Think about using blue as your statement color for your napkins, highboys and cabarets. We have seen many gorgeous weddings pairing classic blue with burgundy, dusty rose, ivory, white and more!

Floral

One aspect of weddings that never goes out of style: flowers! Flowers are used as décor during the ceremony and reception. In 2020, we are going to see a lot of unique bouquets and centerpieces.
Florists are encouraging clients to choose locally grown blooms that are seasonal to ensure brides get the best possible arrangements.

Another trend they are seeing is the use of wildflowers, dried flowers and lots of green vibes. Green and white were very popular in 2019 and we predict we will keep seeing this in 2020.

One trend we see often is hiding a small personal object in bouquets that can represent a family member who is no longer with us or something meaningful to the day. Attaching this to your bouquet puts a personal touch on your bouquet whether it is a pin, ribbon or ring!

Accommodating Menus

Not only are we seeing unique menus in 2020, we are seeing menus that are very accommodating. Couples are becoming more concerned with having food options for their guests who are diet conscious or with allergies.

At SBR Events Group, we make sure to have several options available for those who have special accommodations. Whether you are on the keto diet, vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, allergic to nuts, celiac...the list goes on…we have you covered! Don’t settle for your guests with restrictions having a couple vegetables, they can have a full meal too!

Our most popular vegan items include our delicious portobello stack and cauliflower stack. We also have delicious pastas and fish for our pescatarian and vegetarian guests! Make sure to stay on trend and get delicious, affordable options for all your guests!

Cheese Please!

Whether it is for an appetizer or post dinner snacks, charcuterie boards are here to stay. We saw a huge demand for charcuterie boards in 2019 with more on the way.

We have made gorgeous displays of meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables for various events. Charcuterie is a major trend at weddings and allows for guests to pick and choose their desired combinations of food. We are also seeing these spreads as a late-night snack who are looking for more salt than sweet! Not only are these spreads delicious, they are stunning!

Wedding Gifts

As most registries are now online, we are seeing more card boxes and less big packages at weddings. Online registries do not only include physical gifts sent to a couple, we also see honeymoon funds options as well! This is simply sending over some money to the couple to go towards their much-deserved honeymoon after the wedding.

Our favorite trend we are seeing in 2020 is requesting donations for a charity of the couple’s choice in place of a gift. We saw a big increase in this trend when people began posting on Facebook for their birthday asking for a donation to a charity that is close to their heats in lieu of gifts. What a fantastic way to give back and add even more meaning to your special day!
These are just a few of the trends we are expecting in 2020! SBR Events Group is a full-service caterer, which means we can help you with all aspects of your special day.

1. Guest Count & Venue The first area we must address is the guest count and your venue requirements. Depending on your venue, you will have to adjust your guest count while of course following the state guidelines. From there- we can get planning! Moving from a venue to your private residence? No problem! If you are using True Cuisine & Sweet Baby Ray’s as your catering vendor, we adjust to your venue with no problem. Here are some general areas to consider when adjusting to a new venue: Guest seating / overall new floor plan Food service style Menu & Bar Custom décor These areas will be explained next! 2. Floor plan Planning your floor plan can be tricky for micro weddings as we are still enforcing social distancing as much as possible- even at private residences! Limiting tables to 6 guests each is one way to enforce social distancing during dinner service. Allowing for as much space as possible between each guest table is also important for social distancing. If you are working with different rooms or a backyard- we make it work!

Tip 1: Spice Things Up with a Seasonal Cocktail! Looking for a simple, fun way to spice up your intimate holiday gathering? Adding a signature cocktail is a great way to kickstart your celebration. The Fall and Winter seasons are full of distinct flavors like nutmeg, cinnamon, rosemary and cranberry that pair beautifully with y o ur favorite spirits! Two of our favorite cocktails are the White Christmas Margarita and Jingle Juice. You can find the recipes for these by clicking here . Or, keep it simple by adding some peppermint flavored schnapps or spiked creamer to your favorite hot chocolate or coffee. Any of the spirits can be omitted or substituted with a non-alcoholic mixer for your younger or non-drinker guests. Cheers to a safe celebration!
